Is heat-soak testing the same as tempering?
No. Heat-soak testing is an additional process applied to tempered glass to reduce the risk associated with certain inclusions; the project test requirement should be specified separately.
Which standard should be referenced?
The applicable project and market standard should be stated explicitly in the RFQ; EN 14179 is commonly referenced for European project requirements.
Can test reporting and traceability be requested?
Where required by the project, reporting, panel identification and traceability expectations should be confirmed with the processor at RFQ stage.
